At EIIC we strive to serve the needs of immigrants in every capacity – not just those relating to specific immigration concerns.
Our staff includes our attorney, a psychotherapist who has counseled many clients on depression, addiction issues, relationships and bereavement. Our social work team who work together in an effort to improve the general welfare of our clients. We have been happy to partner with NYU and Columbia to provide social work interns with practical experience. As part of our social services remit we can: provide information on Medicaid, hospitalization and other aspects of healthcare; aid in housing matters such as the search for accommodation or provide referrals toward the resolution of landlord/tenant issues; advise on legal matters to do with government documents or city regulations.
Our seniors’ program deals with issues such as guidance on where to turn for help on everyday practical matters; we host computer classes, Irish language conversational classes, a book club and an active knitting group.
