In support of Jonathan Murphy
Jonathan, son of Barbara (Dublin) and Ray (Galway) Murphy, building manager of The Avery, 100 Riverside Boulevard and member of the Emerald Guild, has been on a roller coaster ride with generalized epilepsy since he was diagnosed at 8 years old. Taking a further blow in 2015 when through genetic testing he was diagnosed with Unverricht-Lumndborg disease, an inherited form of progressive myoclonus epilepsy. Having travelled to Melbourne, Australia in March of this year to be seen by one of the leading consultants in this field, Jonathan now awaits Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery to get the seizures under control.
In spite of all his ailments Jonathan has thrived; accepted to Dean College, MA to pursue his passion by studying Sport Management and giving back to his community with active involvement in scouts, receiving the honor of Eagle Scout this June.
